Text message (SMS) terms

Program

Her Prep Academy membership updates. Her Prep Academy is an online basketball training membership for female players. We send a small number of account notification texts about a member's training — for example, when a coach has reviewed the athlete's player profile and her training book is unlocked, and when her monthly report card is ready. If the family also adds the player's own number, the player gets her report card and a weekly reminder when she falls behind on her workouts. We do not send marketing or promotional texts through this program.

How families opt in

Texts to families are optional. After starting a free trial or membership on herprepacademy.com, the parent/guardian (or adult athlete) completes a one-time player assessment. On the final screen there is a separate, unchecked checkbox. To get texts, they must tick it and type in their mobile number. Joining is never required to buy a membership or use the site. The checkbox reads:

“Optional: text me updates from Her Prep Academy about her membership — like when her book is unlocked. Not required to join or use the site. A few messages a month. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.”

What families see: the text-message box starts unticked and is not needed to finish. The mobile number field only appears if they choose to tick it.

Only if they tick the optional box, a mobile number field appears (sample number shown).

Texts to the player

Families can also choose to text the player directly. It's a separate, unchecked box on the same final screen, and it can be turned on or off any time on the Account page. Players only get their monthly report card and, on Thursdays, one reminder if they've done fewer than 2 workouts that week (never more than one reminder a week). The box reads:

“Optional: also text the player — her monthly report card, and a reminder if she falls behind on her workouts that week. A few messages a month. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.”

For a player under 18, a parent or guardian must also tick a second box before we will text her: “I'm her parent or guardian, and I agree to Her Prep Academy texting her at this number.”

Her Prep Academy coaches and owners who receive staff alerts (for example, “a new member is ready for book approval”) are members of our own team who gave us their numbers directly.

Message frequency

Message frequency varies. Most families receive 1–4 messages a month, usually when something changes in their membership or her report card is ready. Players who opt in get their monthly report card and at most one workout reminder a week. We only text between 8am and 8pm Pacific.

Cost

Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan. Her Prep Academy does not charge for text messages.

How to stop or get help

Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts. You'll get one message confirming you've been unsubscribed, and no more after that. Reply HELP for help, or email us at herprepacademy@herprepacademy.com. To start again later, reply START.

Privacy

We use your mobile number only to send the texts described here. We do not sell, rent or share mobile phone numbers or text-messaging opt-in consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Numbers are only shared with the text-message provider that delivers our messages (Twilio). See our Privacy Policy for more.
